John has a reputation as one of Victoria’s leading authorities on the operation of the Building Act 1993 and the Building Regulations 2004.
John has conducted many seminars and lectures at tertiary institutions including Melbourne University, Victoria University and RMIT. He has presented papers in New York, Hong Kong and Malaysia on topics as diverse as the Law of Evidence, the operation of s126 of the Planning & Environment Act and various topics related to the operation of the Building Act and Building Regulations. He also presents papers at various times to meetings of the AIBS (the Australian Institute of Building Surveyors) and the VMBSG Inc. (the Victorian Municipal Building Surveyors Group Inc.).
John acts for many Councils in Victoria as well as the VMBSG Inc. John is also a member of LGPro, the BDPS (Building Disputes Practitioners Society) and the VMBSG Inc
