About John Hoey


John is the Principal of Hoeys Lawyers.

John has a Degree in Arts (BA) with a major in Australian History and an Honours Degree in Law (LLB(Hons)).

Prior to becoming a lawyer John had a successful career in the Personnel industry and brought with him in his practice of the law a mature and business focussed outlook.

John commenced his legal career as an Articled Clerk in a suburban firm that specialised in building and construction disputes.

Building on this experience, John moved to a large Melbourne CBD firm and worked in their Building and Construction Department for six years. During that time John gained a reputation in the Building Industry for his knowledge of the legislation affecting building and construction in Victoria. He was responsible for overseeing all statutory enforcement carried out for local government and government agencies by the firm, in addition to conducting a strong building and construction litigation practice.

John has acted for government departments, statutory authorities, public and private companies and local government.

As Principal of Hoeys Lawyers, John maintains his strong links with local government and government agencies and private corporate clients.
